Bug fixes that can impact DCI score - Oct. 27th 2022

Modified on: Thu, 27 Oct, 2022 at 12:25 PM

We are implementing solutions for two issues identified recently. These fixes can, in some cases, lead to changes in your DCI score. The deployment of these fixes will be noted on the DCI score graph annotations in the Siteimprove platform. If these changes have any impact on your DCI score, the difference in the score will be visible after the first scan following the fix deployment.

Page level calculation bug fix

The page level of some pages was set incorrectly on a small number of sites. In these cases, the page level did not match what their page level was expected to be. Index URLs are always expected to be at page level 1. On a subset of sites, the Index URLs were seen to be on page level 3 or higher. This bug fix specifically concerns cases where the Index URL was linked back to pages higher in the Page level hierarchy using multiple redirects.

As a result of this fix, the DCI score can change since errors on page level 3 negatively affect the DCI score less than errors on page level 1. The DCI scores for Quality Assurance, Accessibility, and SEO will likely decrease on sites that were affected by this issue.

Readability bug fix

This bug fix is related to how we identify content on a page in order to assess its readability. This bug fix can impact the QA score, and therefore DCI score, of sites using the "si-content-yes” tag. The impact on the score is expected to be minimal and only affects a few sites.
