July 8th, 2024: Exclude domains from cookieless tracking
What is this update about?
This is an update of the Cookieless Tracking release we launched with our Q3 launch in September, 2023. With this update, you can exclude sites and domains from having Cookieless Tracking.
Why do this update?
Some sites and domains, including some intranets, are not compatible with cookieless tracking. The visitors to these pages often have the same underlying attributes that Siteimprove uses for generating the ‘Visitor Hash’.
The solution to this is to exclude specific domains from having cookieless tracking enabled. This means that you can now enable the cookieless tracking setting for the account but list domains and sites (including intranets) that should be exempted.
Where can I exclude sites/domains?
You'll need Marketing Analytics, Content Analytics, or Traffic Analytics to use Cookieless tracking and the exclusion feature:
- In the main menu go to 'Marketing Analytics' as an example
- Go to 'Analytics settings'
- Go to 'Tracking'
- Click 'Cookieless tracking'
- On this page, you can add exclusion by clicking 'Add excluded domains':
